“The most precious jewels you will ever have around your neck are the arms of your children.” – Anonymous
Today’s life is busier than we can imagine with parents juggling both home and work, and children being packed off to extra-curricular activities right after school. However, if you are a parent, you should spend some quality time with your kids because you will not realise it but your little munchkins does. When you now spend time with your child, you are not only making memories for life, but you are also helping your child shape up his/her future in more than one ways.
As a parent we think that we know our kid well but it’s partially true. Spend more time with your child and see how much there is to know. Also research shows that quality time even has an impact on brain size. Children whose parent were nurturing and provided emotional support in their preschool years were found to have more growth, which is associated with learning, memories and regulating emotions. Spending a good quality time with children is essential for their healthy growth and development.
Children may suffer from behaviour disorder if their parents do not spend enough of time with them. Also there are some harmful effect of not spending quality time with the children like Breakdown of family bond, Emotional distress and overthinking, Academic performance, Dependence on digital gadgets or television, Lower self-esteem etc.
In our fast – paced life, it is easy to forget that simply spending time with children is so really important, in orders to assure them we care about them and will always be there for them. Our time is one of the greatest gifts that we can give our children. As parents, we need to create and build lots of opportunities to spend time together. So no matter how busy you may be, always remember to hug your children and to tell them that you love them, it will surprise you to see the kind of difference that these gestures make in the long run.
